Welcome to Billy The Whale, a survival and basic Create friendly floating show piece that is bound to bring lots of cheer and awe to your base.

Using 4 large windmills, Billy is capable of producing 674 FE/t using Crafts & Additions generators and transmitting it to the ground using a rope connector.

To help you move Billy, it comes fully equipped with configurable hot air burners and WASD propeller controls. No more towing balloons with a truck!

-Inspired By Goshva's Solarpunk Turbine-

Assembly

To use Billy, simple print the schematic without applying any rotation and verify the following:

  • Verify that it is fully encased in honey glue (it uses two large honey glue volumes)

  • Verify that its propellers (within either side of its internal chamber) are encased in slime glue

Please apply the glues if they failed to print for you.

Additionally, you will need to perform the following setup:

  • Enable the windmills by clicking on their windmill bearings (jet packs or scaffolding may be needed)

  • Set hot burner to level 3 if near sea level, 4 if >~y=90. This helps Billy stay upright without taking off.

  • Assemble Billy once all the above steps are completed

  • Once assembled, use Crafts & Additions wire spools to connect the electrical components within Billy. This allows electricity to be transmitted via ropes to the ground. This is not needed to fly Billy.

  • You may want to tie Billy down using rope connectors immediately after assembly to prevent accidental lift offs.

Controls and Usage

Billy can be flown like an airship using WASD, but please note this is generally intended to small movements and not long distance travel. Billy is very stable but incredibly slow.

Additional Notes and Debugging

If Billy is over-stressed, please verify all 4 windmills are rotating and set the Speed Controller within its belly to 240 RPM in either direction.

If the FE is not being stored in the accumulator or transmitted to the rope connector, please verify the push/pull modes of each electrical connector. They should be set to Pull from an energy source and Push into an energy target.

It is recommended to make a copy of the linked controller and keep it off of the Billy, so that you can disable its hot air burners remotely in case of an accidental take off.
