Description

The CH-47 Chinook is a heavy-lift transport helicopter inspired by the legendary tandem-rotor cargo aircraft. Designed for transporting vehicles, supplies, and personnel, the Chinook combines immense lifting power with excellent stability and a spacious cargo bay.

Built for Create Aeronautics, the CH-47 comes fully configured and ready for operation straight after assembly. No additional modifications are required. Simply assemble the helicopter, fuel it, and prepare for takeoff.

The Chinook features a functional rear cargo ramp that can be opened and closed using a dedicated lever, allowing easy loading and unloading of cargo.

Due to its enormous lifting capability, pilots should exercise caution when climbing. The CH-47 is extremely powerful and can rapidly gain altitude. Climbing too quickly may send the helicopter into thinner air layers, causing instability and heavy oscillations until the aircraft stabilizes again.

The thrust vectoring system may feel unusual at first, but most pilots quickly become comfortable with the controls after a short amount of practice. Because of its size, the CH-47 also has a relatively large turning radius and requires some planning when maneuvering.

Whether you're transporting equipment across the world or supplying remote outposts, the CH-47 Chinook is built to carry what others can't.

Assembly Guide

Step 1 — Place the Schematic

Place the schematic on a flat surface with enough space around the helicopter.

Step 2 — Assemble the Helicopter

Use the assembler to assemble the vehicle.

Step 3 — Fill the Fuel Tanks

The fuel tank is located inside the cargo compartment. Fill it with Gasoline.

Step 4 — Prime the Fuel System

Inside the cargo compartment you will find a small starter motor. Use it temporarily to start the fuel pumps and prime the fuel system before the first flight.

Step 5 — Start the Engines

Use the engine button located in the cockpit or the button mounted on the outside near the rear cargo ramp. Pressing the button will start or shut down the engines.

Step 6 — Enter the Cockpit

Take the Aeronautics Input Controller located in the cockpit and prepare for departure.

Controls

Thrust

  • W → Increase thrust

Vertical Movement

  • Shift → Ascend

  • Space → Descend

Thrust Vector Control

  • A → Rotate thrust nozzles left

  • D → Rotate thrust nozzles right

Cargo Ramp

  • Lever in the cargo bay → Open / Close rear cargo ramp

Pilot Notes

The CH-47 Chinook is a heavy transport helicopter and requires smooth control inputs for optimal handling.

The thrust vectoring system can feel a little unusual at first, but becomes intuitive after some practice.

Due to its size and weight, the helicopter has a relatively large turning radius. Plan your maneuvers accordingly, especially when operating in confined spaces.

Known Issues

Rotor Direction Bug

In some cases, the rotor blades may rotate in the wrong direction after assembly.

If this happens, simply adjust the affected rotor briefly and set it back to the correct direction.

Cargo Ramp Bug

Occasionally the cargo ramp may attempt to open inward instead of outward.

If this occurs, use the lever located opposite of the cargo ramp control lever. This will correct the mechanism and allow the ramp to operate normally.
