In the USSR, the heavy-duty KrAZ-255 truck (along with the base KrAZ family) bore the unofficial nickname "man-eater"; however, in the context of Chernobyl, the term is more frequently applied to the KrAZ-256B1-030—a specialized dump truck modified with lead shielding and built for the cleanup operations following the Chernobyl disaster.
