North American X-15

A player-scale version of the famous experimental rocket-powered aircraft North American X-15, which holds the manned aircraft speed record (6.7 Mach) since 1967.

• Survival-friendly;

• 160 kpg;

• Powered by a 3x3x3 multi block rocket engine (16200 pN of thrust on lava);

• 3x3x1 fluid container (72000 mB);

• Retractable landing gear using sticky pistons and blue ice (sadly grindstones are immovable blocks);

• Docking connector for refueling and deploying from a modified B-52 Stratofortress (How has this not been built yet?), activated by the same lever of the landing gear;

• Hand crank and lever for starting the engine;

• Redstone Accumulator for thrust control (Q/E on typewriter);

• W/A/S/D for roll/pitch/yaw control (be aware that when flying at altitudes above Y-2000, the air pressure is ridiculously low, so the control surfaces won´t work properly. I thought about adding RCS thrusters for high altitudes, like in the real plane, but there was not much space left and nothing small enough that would behave like one);

• Radar and computer (do not forget to install CC: Sable along with CC: Tweaked) monitors displaying coordinates, engine output, vertical and horizontal speeds (along with Mach speed) and altitude;

• My max speed achieved on lava was approx. 950 (mysterious unit of measure from getLinearVelocity(). While Velocity Sensor says it´s meters per second, the in-game real speed was about 60 blocks per second), while on gasoline (Create: Diesel Generators) it was more than Mach 4 (horizontal speed / 340).

• I would also recommend fueling the engine with oxidizer and then gasoline if you want to achieve higher speeds.
