@Captaindogbones published an awesome and simple cow farm design that only needs the base Create mod. I was able to get rid of some optional blocks, including the rotation speed controller, and replace a few with cheaper alternatives. Since a build is modular, it's up to the end-user to connect to whatever source of rotational force they want, so I remove the waterwheel.

# How to use:

Before finishing the build (or after finishing it and breaking a few blocks to allow access, or leaving a gap) somehow get at least two cows to stand in the one-block space right above the top (non-smart) chute and then seal them inside, load the top chest with wheat, and wait.

# How it works:

The deployer feeds the cows wheat and they breed until they hit the entity cramming limit (25?). When they die, beef and leather drop through the top chute into a space where the encased fan blows hot air at them until the beef cooks. The bottom chute (smart chute) needs to have a filter that only allows cooked beef and leather (or you could do one that only bans uncooked beef). That way, the beef stays in front of the campfire until it's cooked.

The original version recommended 32 rpm for rotation speed, but I've been running it at 48 without problems and it seems to accumulate drops faster. I don't see a reason you can't use it to farm any feedable mob. It works on chickens, you just need to lower the top layers (deployer and above) by one block.
