SR-91 Aurora is my own interpretation of what the hypothetical SR-91 might have looked like. The project was inspired by various SR-91 renders, rumors surrounding the Aurora program, my own ideas, and the visual design of the SR-72 Darkstar from Top Gun: Maverick. The goal was not simply to create a good-looking aircraft, but to build a machine that actually feels like a complete high-speed aircraft in Minecraft - with functional flight controls, retractable landing gear, adjustable engine power, and different flight modes. Features

  • Retractable landing gear - allowing the aircraft to perform proper takeoffs and landings.

  • Adjustable engine power - 15 throttle stages for different flight conditions.

  • Extreme top speed - in afterburner mode, the aircraft can reach up to 2780 m/s, while its typical cruising speed is around 250–350 m/s.

  • Improved handling - designed to remain controllable and maneuverable rather than being purely focused on straight-line speed.

  • Original design - Aurora is not an exact replica of any real or fictional aircraft.

  • External power and fuel system - due to the aircraft’s extremely thin and compact design, players will need to build a separate power source and connect an Energy Transmitted to the aircraft. You will also need two Fluid Transmitted blocks: one supplying kerosene and the other supplying an oxidizer for increased engine power.

  • Chunk loading required - a chunk loader should be placed near the external power and fuel systems to ensure they remain operational while the aircraft is away.

The external power and fuel system is an intentional part of the design. Instead of making the aircraft wider to accommodate a large internal power and fuel setup, Aurora uses separate external systems connected through Energy Transmitted and Fluid Transmitted. This allows the aircraft to retain its extremely slim and narrow profile without sacrificing functionality.

  1. Controls

    • W - Pitch up

    • S - Pitch down

    • A - Roll left

    • D - Roll right

    • Q - Decrease engine power

    • E - Increase engine power

    • Space - Afterburner mode

    • 1 / 2 / 3 - Launch missiles / drop bombs
