So I made this little thing over time. Here is a guide explaining how it works, what it can do and how to use it, alongside a schematic. This is a early brass age, 100% survival friendly cargo ship capable of transporting players and huge amounts of items over great distances and at high altitude. It runs on any furnace fuel so overheating isn't required and has a simple auto starting mechanism.

How it works:

It has 2 modes:

Hover mode where it stays in place without moving by a block, and can be controlled by rotating the propellers to move precisely, and Cruise mode where the stabilization systems deactivate to allow for great speeds using the 3 propellers in the back.

What can it do?

Max Speed: 80m/s at sea level (Y=~64) and ~50m/s at Y=~300
Max Height: ~320m
It can:
-do a barrel roll (yes).
-transport about 10 seated players and probably 100 jumping around.
-tow itself. TWICE (aka still fly above sea level with 16 bedrock blocks on it)
-carry small vehicules in its front hangar bay alongside 4, 3x3x9 item vaults if equipped with docking ports
-Stay perfectly stable during flights, so that you can even, as the pilot, get up and walk around to do other things and hover without moving.

DO NOT ROTATE THE SCHEMATIC NOR COPY IT WITH THE CLONE GUN IF YOU HAVE THE MOD

  1. How to start it and use it:

    1. Checklist:

    • Verify the landing gears, hangar doors, and propellers are glued correctly.

    • Rotate twice the 2 water weels near the hangar doors to update them and make them rotate as well as the one in the front landing gear.

    • Replace the uncharged battery at the main engine blocks

    1. Startup:

    • Verify the ship is correctly honey glued and assemble it.

    • Connect the ship with any furnace fuel source (charcoal prefered) using the docking port under it decorated with fire warning decals.

    • Open the 2 valves on both sides of the main engine block.

    • Get to the cockpit and click the button on the right of the front panel.

    • Wait for the fuel source to get to all the engines automatically, you'll hear them speed up and it'll couple the propellers and the rest automatically.

    1. Piloting:

You're ready to fly! Here are the controls:
    Seat sides:
-Typing machine: WASD in Hover mode to pitch the propellers and yaw. only Q and E in Fast travel mode for pitch. Ctrl to go down.
-Left lever: Altitude, maxes out at 11, takes off at level 5 when at sea level.
-Front Rose Quartz Lamp (if on): Cruise mode
-Back Rose Quartz Lamp (if on): Hover mode
-Right lever: Forward thrust, maxes out at 11 and enables cruise mode when activated (on purpose).
    Top panel:
    -Front left lever: Headlights
-Back right lever: Force disable stabilisation.
-Back left lever: laser to enable the docking station (other build to come)
    -Front bell: Front hangar door.
    -Back bell: Back hangar door.
    Front panel:
    -Right button: startup the engine.

    Notes:

After starting the propellers won't run and that's normal, when the levers are set to 0 they all turn off

  2. Future updates planned:

Other versions of it with, for example, guns from CBC, more decorations and perhaps more functionalities. Notes: There may still be useless parts on the ship (unused redstone links, weird rooms in the ship) but I will remove them or use them in the future. That's it! If you have any question I'd be happy to answer them :) (Schematic down below)

This vehicule is also part of a small series I'm making, so I will also release a cargo truck and a vehicule storable inside as well as a bigger ship planned.

Q&A

Q: How did you stabilize it?
A: I made a whole logic system in the ship's brain that rotates the propellers when in hover mode and reduces the rotation speed of the blades a bit when in cruise mode.

Older versions are available on the official Create: Aeronautics Discord server in the showcase channel.

Latest Changelog:

New:
-Crane at the back to lift up charges like small vehicules.
-Side I/O ports for ships to dock on. (WIP: only to the Atlas working)
-Side hangar doors that go through the ship (funny)
-Copper Bulb that tells you if the engine is running or not.
-Some trapdoors for deco and access from some rooms to others.
-Ladders for better access in some places. (e.g: Back propellers)
-Mod: Rechiseled

Changed:
-Logic for more stability (hopefully)
-Startup mechanism should now no longer break.
-Changed the rotation transfer to be fool-proof (engine running backwards should not matter too much)
-Hull is no longer made out of Carved Spruce Planks (lighter)
-All hangar doors (including new ones) now use mechanical bearings instead of swivel bearings.

Removed:
-Mods: Unusual Furnitures and Lucky's Showcase.
-Side docking connectors inside the back hangar.

Note:
-VIDEO IS ON ITS WAY PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE AAAAAAAAAA
-If you happen to have Create:Dragons Plus, you can use a fluid port to directly input water in 2 of the steam engines
